Find out the answers to our frequently asked questions in preparation for your stay at The Angel Hotel, Cardiff.

All new advanced purchase & pre-paid reservations booked from 17th March 2020 for any future arrival date will be liable for charge. Should you wish to maintain the right to cancel free of charge then we strongly recommend booking one of our “best flexible” rates.

The Main entrance is located on the corner of Castle and Westgate St in Cardiff City Centre.

We are a 10 minute walk and close to the following attractions: St. Davids Shopping Centre, Cardiff Central Train Station, Cardiff Castle, Principality Stadium

We have a small car park onsite at the hotel, the entrance is located on Westgate Street just behind the hotel. It is operated on a first come first serve basis and has a charge of £13 per night per car. Simply drive into the car park and find a space, you do not need to take a ticket. Once you have found a space walk around to Reception and register your number plate – please ensure you do this to avoid a fine from Parking Eye who manage our car park.

If the car park is full on your arrival there are two NCP’s on the same street as us. The Cardiff Stadium car park is just opposite the hotel and the Westgate Street car park is just further down the road from us. More information about their pricing can be found on the NCP website.

From M4 take Junction 32 for Cardiff North. Follow signs for City Centre on Northern Avenue toward A470 North Road. Bear Right onto Castle Street The Angel Hotel is located on the Junction with Westgate Street on your Right. Approximately 27 minutes from M4 to Hotel.

The closest train station is Cardiff Central and is only half a mile, or a 10-minute walk, from The Angel Hotel. It has a direct service to London Paddington Station.

Our check in time is from 3pm. If a room is ready, we can check you in prior to this time. You are able to leave any luggage at reception or a car in our car park prior to arrival.

You can guarantee an early check in of 1pm for a supplement of £20. This can be added your reservation and paid on your arrival.

Our check out time is 11am. Late check out is subject to availability and does cost £40 until 1pm. This can be arranged with reception at the time of check in.

Alternatively you are able to leave any luggage at reception after checking out.

 

Advance Purchase Rates:
Payment is taken at or anytime after the time of booking. Once payment has been taken the booking is non-refundable or amendable in anyway.

Flexible Rate:
Payment is not taken until arrival to the hotel – this rate also includes free cancellation up until 2pm.

We have several steps leading into the main entrance of the hotel, we have a lift accessible from Westgate Street to Reception should you need it.

We do not have any ground floor bedrooms however there are lifts to all floors. Also, all of our bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with baths in and showers over the top. Many rooms have grab rails in the bathroom.

Please let us know at the time of booking of any additional needs you or your guests may have and we will do our best to allocate an appropriate room.

We do allow pets into the hotel. There is a of charge of £15 per pet per stay. This can be added to your booking and then paid for on arrival.

Adult – From  £7.95 per person

Children –  under 5’s free

6-12 years – £3.50

We have fold out “Z” beds available for children up to the age of 14.

We have Cot Beds for younger children available as well.

These can be requested at any point on a complimentary basis.

If you are celebrating any special occasions or are interested in making your stay a little more memorable we have a few options to upgrade your stay with us so give our reservations or reception team a call for assistance.

 

Our Reception team is happy to store any luggage for our guests either before they check in or after check out.

WiFi is available throughout the hotel at no extra cost.

We can cater for all dietary requirements or food preferences. We always ensure that there is a vegetarian alternative on all our menus.

Always feel free to speak to your server in the restaurant and they will be able to assist you, or speak with the kitchen to make something suitable.

Unfortunately we do not have any spa or gym facilities, we are located across the street from Bute Parc which is a lovely space to have a run. There are also numerous well known branded gyms in a short walking distance from the hotel.
